Atletico Madrid Star Buys 2020 Porsche Cayenne Turbo Coupe

Offbeat

Spanish midfielder Jorge Resurreccion Merodio, also known as Koke, is one of Atletico Madrid’s biggest stars and one of the best soccer players in the world. Recently, he was photographed at Porsche Madrid Oeste, where he went to pick up the brand new Cayenne Turbo Coupe.

We reckon that he’ll be driving the Porsche crossover whenever he’s not obligated to use the Hyundai Santa Fe given to him by his team as, last year, Atletico and Hyundai closed a three-year sponsorship deal.

Interestingly enough, the interior he chose for his new Cayenne sort of matches his team’s uniform, which also utilizes a lot of red. The cabin features red leather seats, lower dashboard, center console and door panels, a black leather upper dash (with red contrast stitching) and upper door panels, plus an Alcantara headliner, while the exterior seems to be a metallic grey – either Quarzite Grey Metallic or Dolomite Silver Metallic.

As for what this luxury crossover can do in a straight line, well, how does zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 3.7 seconds sound? Probably even better than the 178 mph (286 km/h) top speed we imagine.

Power comes from a 4.0-liter twin turbocharged V8 that’s good for 541 HP (549 PS) and 567 lb-ft (768 Nm) of torque. As you can imagine, these types of numbers on a Porsche-badged SUV don’t come cheap. In the U.S. for example, you’d have to spend upwards of $130,000 for the top of the range Turbo Coupe version of the Cayenne – but for a soccer star in one of Europe’s top clubs, that’s probably small change.
